Puzzle Quest FAQs

Q: What’s the deal with pricing? What do you mean by “downward pricing model?

A: We’re pricing the first chapter of Puzzle Quest at $10, and we think it’s a great value, with over 20 hours of gameplay and storyline. The next two chapters are going to be priced lower than Chapter 1, and we’re going to allow you to bring the heroes you develop in Chapter 1 along to Chapters 2 and 3 for an even cooler game experience.

Q: Is this just the same game as the desktop, PSP, DS, XBOX, etc.?

A: It’s similar, but different. We taken the great experience of Puzzle Quest on other platforms, integrated the “Revenge of the Plague Lord” Expansion Pack for an even deeper storyline and adventure, and customized the game for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Q: Why are some things hard to read?

A: The iPhone’s got a great screen, but it’s still hard to fit everything we want onto the screen. Puzzle Quest has a lot of information that you need to be able to see when playing: health points, manna, spells, etc. We’ve done our best to get everything you need on the screen while still keeping things readable. We’re working on making this better, and will be releasing an update with some fixes here soon.

Q: When can I expect this update?

A: Early January. We’re working at full-speed to get you guys an even better game, and we’ll push the update as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience.

Q: Is any of my personal information being stored with the saved games?

A: Nope. Everything we capture when we save your game is completely anonymous.

Q: I answered Yes or No to the question about saving my game, and now I want to change my mind. Can I do this?

A: Not at this time. If you’d like to change this option, you’ll need to delete the game from your device, and reinstall it. iTunes will remember that you’ve purchased this game, so you won’t be billed twice. However, you will lose the saved game on your device by doing this.

Q: How is the Puzzle Quest expansion pack integrated into this game?

A: We have integrated the expansion pack into all 3 chapters as appropriate (based on player level) creating a unique game experience. The entire game is being offered as a trilogy.

Q: My character has disappeared. How can I fix this?

A: First, we are issuing a 1.1 update to Puzzle Quest that will solve this. If you’re okay with waiting for the update (it’s just in Apple’s QA process right now), all your heroes will come right back when you install it. Otherwise, the workaround is to delete some of your more recent characters, and your older characters will re-appear. Please remember that deleting your characters is permanent, however, so it’s best to wait for the update if you can.

Q: Why is the game being offered in chapters/trilogy?

A: Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is an extensive game that, in total, offers over 80 hours of game play. This makes Puzzle Quest one of the most extensive and comprehensive games being offered on the App Store. We thought it would be a good idea to create chapters since there are very natural break-points in the game that make each chapter a great game experience unto themselves. Combined as a trilogy, this becomes a game with an epic story-line for the die-hard fans. We also want to add new features and functionality with each chapter so this gives us the time to do so.
